Metadata registry

A metadata registry for Digital Product Passports

RVRC Hub is a metadata registry and governed-access layer for Digital Product Passports. It stores the metadata needed to register, find and request access to DPPs. The actual DPP remains with the provider.

How RVRC Hub works

A governed-access layer between DPP providers and industry users

01

Providers register DPP metadata

DPP providers such as Made2Verify push approved registry metadata to RVRC Hub. The hub indexes identifiers, search metadata and variable manifests — never full DPP content.

02

Users discover DPPs

Authenticated users search registered DPPs, view public metadata, inspect variable manifests and identify products relevant to their value-retention activities.

03

Access is requested, approved and audited

Users request access to restricted variables. Data owners review, approve or reject requests. Approved grants are recorded, signed assertions are issued and all actions are audited.

Built for

Value-retention industries

DPP metadata exchange wherever products are remanufactured, repaired, reused or recycled.

Aerospace remanufacturing

Track gearboxes, engine modules and avionics across their service life — the canonical RVRC scenario for governed DPP access before a part arrives for remanufacture.

Industrial machinery

Share maintenance, material and repair histories for heavy equipment without exposing proprietary process data to every party in the chain.

Batteries & EV

Align with EU Battery Passport requirements: state-of-health, chemistry and supply-chain metadata discoverable through a governed registry.

Electronics

Support repair, reuse and material recovery with per-variable access to restricted manufacturing and composition data.

Why RVRC Hub

Built for trust and transparency

Controlled, auditable access to Digital Product Passport metadata.

Registry, not replication

RVRC Hub stores registry metadata and variable manifests. It does not copy, host or replace provider-held DPPs.

Governed access

Every request for restricted data is tracked. Data owners review, approve or reject access. Grants are time-limited and revocable.

Provider-hosted DPPs

Restricted values stay with the provider. When access is approved, RVRC Hub fetches authorised data using a signed grant assertion.

EU-aligned registry pattern

RVRC Hub follows the same architectural direction as the EU DPP central registry under ESPR Articles 13 and 14.

Full audit trail

Every access request, approval, grant, fetch event and administrative action is recorded in an append-only audit log.

Cross-provider discovery

Search across DPPs from participating providers through a single registry interface, with per-provider metadata safety controls.

Perspectives

Why organisations participate

The registry pattern serves both sides of a value-retention exchange.

We hold sensitive manufacturing data we cannot simply hand over. RVRC Hub lets a remanufacturer discover our DPP and request only the variables they need — with our approval recorded every time.
